'White Whale Lighthouse' copyright 2018 Michelle L. Palmer

Happy Summer, Sweet Friends!
July has come in with heat!
Perfect time for some needlework projects~ keeping cool inside!

Cover to cover is filled with beautiful patterns & tutorials!
The Old Tattered Flag carries it in their charming shop~
Found it on the shelf at Barnes & Noble Bookstore and JoAnn Fabrics!

The weather map is painted so pretty in hot pink, red, orange...
The week ahead will be filled with Independence Day
celebrations and record breaking heat.
Wishing you safe travels and relaxation with those you love!

Twins are expected!

My dad had twins as siblings~
My mom had twins as siblings~
I was so very grateful to have one baby at a time!

(Dress is Carter's baby & the little boys onesie is by Oshkosh)
I added the little illustrations to match their nursery themes~

One of my sweetest cousins is expecting fraternal twins!
Girl and a boy!

They were showered with treasures and so very deserving!
The sweetest of families~

These little outfits will only fit them for a short time~
They will forever fit their favorite teddy bears!

When I saw that they had white Onesies on their gift registry
I knew could have some fun with them!
There is an owl tucked in her collection &
I kept most of his illustrations nautical themed.

They can wear them...
Have them made into their first T-Shirt quilt...
Keep them for always~

I cut some of my Finch & Friends flannel fabric in pink for her!
(Red Rooster Fabrics)
Blue in the same two patterns for the little fella~

The twins have a large & beautiful family & the most amazing friends.
Oodles of loving arms just waiting to hold them!

Precious little hearts~

Hope your week is off to a great start, Friends!

Nautical Punch Needle~

"Freedom Lighthouse" copyright 2016 Michelle L. Palmer

Sailing into another weekend!
September has arrived and the first week has disappeared already~
I started this punch needle piece on Labor Day.
It was nice to put work aside and enjoy time with Dear Hearts!

How I love red, white & blue...

Beginning stitches...
Detail work first~

Sometimes colors need to be pulled & changed as the design progresses...

Hope your September is off to a great start, Friends!
Wishing you a relaxing weekend~

He is swimming with the dolphins today...
Sir Whale is finished & ready for framing!

"Flow Blue Skeps" copyright Michelle L. Palmer
Is just home from the frame shop...
Framed with museum glass (zero glare) to protect
the colors and keep it preserved.
Sherry's Bear & Frame Shop in Seneca Falls

Sharing Sir Whale's progress (backwards...)

I use all cotton floss...
Six strands & three strands.

His coat of many colors...

I sketch my design lightly in pencil and then add some contour lines
with three strands... then I start filling in and painting with strings!

'Sir Whale' was his name before I started adding color...
As I was stitching along I was humming, "Down by the Sea..."
Still hum it when I see it!

Hope you have a wonderful week, Sweet Friends!

Seashells & Sandpipers

Hello, Sweet Friends!
Do hope you are having some sunny days at the shore~
We have been enjoying day after day of rain.
Do wish we had a way to share some with those of you praying for rains!

"Seashells & Sandpipers"
A new print available now from my 2nd Etsy Shop!
Seashells & Sandpipers was featured for June 2013 in my calendar
"Outside My Window" with Legacy Publishing Group

This is a peek at one corner of my little studio...
I have a corner cabinet that this antique cheese box sits on~
Filled with larger shells and gorgeous starfish.
I love to gather favorite things for still life studies!
Add two feathered friends...

Wishing you all the best!

Hand-carved Rubber Stamps & Giveaway!

I have enjoyed carving rubber stamps since high school...
(Over 25 years now! Yikes!)
In high school we used the hard linoleum blocks.
Today my favorite material is Speedy-Carve by Speedball.
"The pink stuff!"

I discovered a pile of rubber stamp blocks at a 2nd hand store.
In the past I have cut my own from 1" x 2" boards...
Sand the ends~
Heavy duty double sided tape keeps the stamp secure.

Most times I start my stamps with a quick sketch directly on the pink~
I left a bit of the background for an artsy look.
For clear-edge stamps, carve your design then trim the extra.

Packaged, they make very sweet, personal & unique gifts!
Kids birthday parties, teacher gifts...
I carved a simple version of a friends new home (housewarming gift!)
and she used the stamp to make handmade  note-cards to announce her
new address & added the same stamp near her return address~

GUESS WHAT?!?
I have reached 2000+ sales in my Etsy store!!!
THANK YOU!
Celebrating with a new GIVEAWAY!!!

I will blog about it later today or tomorrow...
There will be two GIVEAWAYS!
One here on my Blog & one on my Facebook page!

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
Smiles to you~

Feathers & New Art...

Sweet 16 and I found a barn sale that had
boxes filled with all sorts of goodies!
Look at all these feathers!
She found a huge box of stained glass...
I know she will be sharing pictures when she
gets her blog up and running~

I need a day to sit and clean them...

Huge ones...
Little ones...
Bright ones...
Dull ones...

I love these plump shapes...
They're my favorites!

I listed a few more pieces in my etsy shop...

I'm running out of my little circles...
They're so much fun to draw on!

I know something else will catch my eye!

I love the Americana pieces...
When I invest in a sewing machine...
WHEN...
(giggle, giggle)
I will make pillows, banners, etc. with
patriotic themes to fill our home!

These old buttons are so thick!

I have always loved lighthouses...
Always a favorite subject at art festivals!

Hope you stop by my Etsy store to see
all of my new pieces...
More coming soon!

School is winding down for our teens~
Such a CRAZY BUSY time...
But a VERY GOOD time!

Hope you're having a great weekend!
