ArtWalk & Watercolor fun~

Good Morning, Friends!
We have had a very busy week~ filled with wonderful blessings!
We enjoyed our son's Senior Recital mid-week...
I participated in Seneca Falls, NY 'ArtWalk' on Friday evening...
Our daughter graduated with her AAS degree in Graphic Design yesterday!

'Spring is busting out all over!'
It is absolutely beautiful here and green as far as our eyes can see.

Keeping our friends to the south in our thoughts and prayers as
they clean up and rebuild from damaging waters & flooding...
Praying for all in CA... hoping the weather will help calm the fires.

Little bit of blue...

Little bit of yellow...

Little bit of orange...

Whole lot of nature!
It's wonderful to be in the gardens again~
I tucked some little watercolors in each of my Etsy shops yesterday...

Hope your day is filled with happy moments!

Tuesday, December 10

Original watercolors to celebrate all of this snow!

This little bashful elephant would like to share a little sprig of mistletoe~

Little owl has his wings on his hips declaring, "I'm king of the mountain!"

On the most blustery days... brilliant red Cardinals show up at the feeders
appearing like a bright tail light!

Sweet, vintage tones on this meadow friend...

Meadow visits...

I think this little Cardinal is going to try for king of the mountain!
Look out, little owl!

Do hope you are safe and warm, Sweet Friends!

Tuesday, November 26

Christmas watercolor originals...

They begin as sketches in my journals~
I may have drawn them onto fabric in black ink...

A completely different little character when color is added!
When the light is good & my eyes are 'feeling good' I love to paint.

(Glazing color/texture to my stocking...)

Once the base color is dry I like to layer 'glaze' additional colors for texture...

Here I am softening the texture & edge so my stocking doesn't appear flat.

Adding a few deeper tones will push the edges back & fluff up this mouse nest!

Hope you are staying safe in this winter storm!
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday~

Thursday, November 14

Little watercolors~

Just sharing a peek!

My favorite way to build snowmen...

My toes stay warm...

The only rosy cheeks are the ones I decide to paint~

Sweet little frames turn them into the perfect gifts!
I will be adding these & more to my 2nd Etsy shop~

Hope you're having a nice evening, Sweet Friends!

Snowman & Woolly Bear

Little woolly bear love is trying to convince my snow-friend that
Winter is going to be LONG and COLD!
Great news for her frozen figure~
I was waiting for the first snow of the season to add it to my 2nd Etsy Shop...
Flurries were flying today!

Oh joy! Winter!
Ooodles of new pen & ink snowmen will be in my Etsy shop over
the next several days... along with teddy bears, snowbirds, snow bunnies,
winter mice... snow things, snow stuff~ you know...... ;)
I have started some small watercolors to add to my
2nd Etsy shop... similar themes!
It's that time of year~ when all things glitter and glow~
 All things love and hope~

Wishing you a joy-filled season!

Harvest Snowman Print

Baby it's cold outside!
"Harvest Snowman" is a new print available in my 2nd Etsy Shop!
We have several Maple trees around our yard that wait until the very last minute
to drop their leaves! Brilliant yellow~ and on the tree
through the first weeks of November.

When early bursts of snow arrive...
Palmer snowmen are spotted with bright yellow leaves!
This painting reminds our family of many snowmen made while
leaves, seeds and feathers were swirling around in the Fall winds!

Hope your Friday is off to a crisp~ but sunny start!

Friday, September 13

Owls in the pumpkin patch~

Our little owl friend has found the perfect perch!
When the moon is full and casts a soft glow across our backyard~
I know little friends gather!

Do you suppose he is chatting with a sweet little field mouse?

This is a new print from one of my original watercolor paintings!
Just added it to my 2nd Etsy shop~

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Saturday, August 3

Bombus, Honey Bee, Bumble Bee...

I'm pretty sure they knew I would be painting them...
My big hat and wee little camera leaning into their Echinacea!
They seem to tolerate me if I am still.

Thankfully, my layers of bug repellent doesn't bother~

I love snapping photographs of them sharing!

All around the Mulberry Bush...

When the bee stings... cure it with love & honey~

While I paint a collection I return the little originals to their frames so they will dry flat.
(That way I know which bee belongs to what frame)

The bees are enjoying our tropical summer!
With the wonderful rains & a few hot weeks our gardens OVER grew~
No neat clumps of blossoms here... no stepping stones in sight...
I have called it Garden Olympics.
I am convinced the Trumpet Vine & Sweet Peas are in a neck-n-neck competition
to see which one can reach the top of a nearby baby Maple tree first!

The bees are tickled to visit the blossoms just out of reach~ my reach!
"Ahhhh... we can gather without the camera pest."

~They tolerate me~
I thank God for their beauty & soft hummmmmm~
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Sweet Friends!

American Goldfinch & Peonies

"Peony Perch"
A new print available in my 2nd Etsy Shop

Reminds me of pink lemonade...
So many colors pair beautifully~ yellow and pink are soft & shabby chic!

In our gardens Goldfinch perch anywhere their little hearts choose to!
Some of our Peonies are sturdy and the Goldfinch perch on the buds...
Swaying back and forth when they land.
Wonder if they find the bouncing-sway to be a fun ride?

Our daughter brings bouquets of blossoms in all summer~
Her windowsill is line with creamers, jars, bottles & blossoms.
I thought her Peony arrangement would be sweet with two bright yellow friends!

Hope your weekend is off to a sunny start!

Seashells & Sandpipers

Hello, Sweet Friends!
Do hope you are having some sunny days at the shore~
We have been enjoying day after day of rain.
Do wish we had a way to share some with those of you praying for rains!

"Seashells & Sandpipers"
A new print available now from my 2nd Etsy Shop!
Seashells & Sandpipers was featured for June 2013 in my calendar
"Outside My Window" with Legacy Publishing Group

This is a peek at one corner of my little studio...
I have a corner cabinet that this antique cheese box sits on~
Filled with larger shells and gorgeous starfish.
I love to gather favorite things for still life studies!
Add two feathered friends...

Wishing you all the best!

Friday, June 21

Vintage Teddy Bears...

Teddy friends have been a favorite to paint since I was in college.
They sit in the studio alongside my needle felts and
line our mantel at Christmastime.
They are good sports, willing to sit & pose for various photo references...
Kind enough to wear a pin that I have made~
Content to display a bunting of my pen & inks!

These two prints are made from my original watercolors.

They are sweet baby shower gifts~
I always try to purchase receiving blankets from the shower registry.
I place the print inside a shirt box, protect it with tissue paper &
Wrap the box with the receiving blanket!
Sweet & unique~

Hope your Friday is off to a great start, Sweet Friends!

"The Girls"

"The Girls" were very kind and shared their pasture with me...
They allowed me to splash around in the creek bed while they
took a drink and cooled off their toes~

They have the longest eyelashes... the softest noses~
Never seem to be in a hurry...
Always curious as to what I was up to!

Tender memories of my childhood~
Prints of "The Girls" are in my 2nd Etsy Shop!

Congratulations to Harriet Hicks!
Your name was pulled from the bucket for our latest giveaway~
Another giveaway coming soon...
Thank you for so many wonderful comments, Sweet Friends!

Hope your day is sunny and sweet!

Johnny Jump Ups~

Alaina & Will were always in the garden with me...
Handfuls of flowers would surely be gathered & little bouquets were treasured!

Johnny Jump Ups are a favorite!
Typically roots & all were "picked" and little hearts would choose a vase~
Wee little depression-ware shot glasses for Buttercups!
Sturdy stoneware creamers for Iris & Peonies~
Bright yellow bowls for wild Phlox!
Green glass inkwells for delicate ever-blooming Geraniums...

A new print!
Just listed in my 2nd Etsy shop~

The top photograph in this post shares some of the licensed products
we were thrilled to have developed by two different companies!
Universal Designs still carries several beautiful products with this image!

Hope all are safe from the new round of storms~
Praying...
Hope your day is filled with joy!

Tuesday, June 11

Baby Robin archival prints!

I picked up the prints today!
Baby Robin is in my 2nd Etsy store~
Their little faces...

We have had dark, soggy, soaking... torrential rains~ and more rain.
I like to use natural light, to keep the colors close to original.
I will take better photographs when the clouds move on~

Our wee ones are no longer bouncing around the cozy lawns...

I gathered 3 shells from underneath trees & shrubs this year~
Not one of them were Robin-egg-blue!

Each print is hand-signed... the prints look so much like the original!

Hope you're having a nice evening!
Thank you for so many kind comments about my greeting cards~
Smiles to you!
