Palmer Fabric Collections

Two new fabric collections to share with you!
P&B Textiles has brought more of my watercolor paintings to fabric~
'Fresh Picked Farm Stand'

I have taken photographs of farm stands for over 20 years~
Along the roadside, while we're out for a country drive.
Most of the stands are 20 minutes or less from our home.
We LOVE to support our farmers & gardeners!

Winter Snowmen Wreaths!
So much fun!!
Snowmen with their cardinal friends... framed by different wreaths~

I began painting some of my favorite stands several years ago.
A few extra props & signs tucked in here or there...
I will often change the crop to fill my 'garden' of subjects.
We do not have a long growing season here~
It is an amazing variety... sweet and full of flavor!

We are surrounded by apple, peach, plum, cherry orchards...

I LOVE honey...
Grateful for Beekeepers!
No matter how few or how many hives they keep~
Protecting our bee population is crucial.
Grateful for open fields of wild flowers, hedgerows, windbreaks & field edges.
I search for heirloom & pollinator-friendly plants to add to our garden.

Farm stand location/direction signs at cross roads are often made from
recycled wood. I thought it would be fun to add some
farmyard friends!
I will be releasing some of these designs as punch needle
and rug hooking patterns soon!

The border...
I can't wait to play with some of these fabrics!
(If I could sneak a few more hours into each day...)

Bustling meadow...
They must have wonderful visits!

Some of the coordinates for Winter Snowmen Wreaths

Perfect size and detail to cut out...
Ideal for ornaments, set inside quilt blocks... patch a Christmas stocking!

Margaret Luewen~ Miss Marker's Quilts
Margaret drives past some of the same road side stands...
She designed a quilt for Fresh Picked Farm Stand~
and...

...a quilt for Winter Snowmen Wreaths, too!

We are enjoying dryer, sunnier days...
The vegetable garden is delighted!
The flowers are blooming & bees are humming~

Hope you have a wonderful week, Friends!
Thank you for stopping by~

Donkeys Hooked Rug~

Sweet Jasper & Snickers~ 39" x 30" copyright 2018 Michelle L. Palmer

These furry loves have been very patient!
A beautiful summer... a very hot summer, I started this rug in early July.
Too much wool to have covering my lap until the cooler days arrived.

In a blink our evenings are chilly and the donkeys are perfect
to relax with after work~

I was a little nervous to begin Jasper...
He is the sweetest fella and I hope to capture a likeness.
From a distance animals have a general similarity~
Up close, they're unique.
Up close, they're endearing.
Sweet.
Tender.
They touch and come close~

I'll share pictures as Jasper and Snickers fill in more~
Working with #4, #6 and #7 strips on primitive linen.

Wishing you joy-filled Autumn days, Friends!

Punch needle Holsteins & Chickadees~

Copyright 2018 Michelle L. Palmer

Punching projects!
I added new patterns to my shop this week~
The chickadees are five separate patterns, a collection.
I punched my model of them as one long piece... something different.

Punching is relaxing... but I don't know when to stop.
Hands and fingers grow weary~

Nexcare by 3M makes a wonderful tape~
has a little cushion to it!
Found in most drug stores.
Apply the amount that works best for your comfort.

It stays put and stays clean...

No sticky residue.

Wrapped around tiny needle felting tools~
Good to go for hours!
Did you say laundry? Dishes to wash? I'll get to them...

I had to get my August girls finished before September arrived!
A very painterly piece~
Now that they are finished I wish I would have punched them
twice this size so that I could add even more detail.

The perfect excuse to design a hooked rug of them!

I think miss matched tea cups are charming~
Antique shops are filled with single beauties just waiting to held again.
Always fun to see which cup friends choose. I gravitate toward the blue ones.

Chickadees love to perch on stems & tendrils when we decorate for Harvest.
I think they would enjoy some pumpkin spice tea on frosty mornings!

I have added a paper pattern of the entire Pumpkin Tea collection to my Etsy shop.
Punched in a row just as I made the models.
They're also available individually~
I thought this would be fun to offer!

Hope you have a wonderfully creative Labor Day weekend, Friends!
Thank you for stopping by~

O Christmas Tree~

It is so nice to have a blanket of white on the ground~
Time for the land & crops to rest and picture perfect!

A country drive is always a favorite pastime...
Just up the road from our home is our favorite tree farm!

Snow was floating down softly,  like feathers falling~
Look at all of those babies!
Wrapping the hills as far as the eye can see! (even on a clear day)

They're in their 20's now... but walking behind them brings back
25 years of tree-gathering memories.
Little ones toddling through trees their height~ playing hide & seek.
Little hands hugging 15' giants...
Sitting on the trunk and being carried out~

Some years it has been so warm we were in t-shirts...
Other years there has been so much rain we've been up to
our ankles in mud, slipping & sliding~

Our daughter LOVES wee little trees~
I tend to choose trees that are far too tall for our home!

Baby trees here and there~ replenishing...

We found one!
Wishing you and yours a joy-filled season~
