Red Fox visit

Our blanket of white has almost completely melted.
Early Sunday morning I peeked out the window for a weather check and
something caught my attention!
Trotting through the back field~
Perhaps returning home from an overnight shift...
Mr. Red Fox

Red fox is so very beautiful and so very helpful.
He and his family will help keep a healthy, natural, balance~
Our ever-growing concern with Lyme disease often begins with
the (adorable and sweet) White-footed mouse.
Rodents have been sampling more vegetables from our garden
than we have! They're becoming a concern.
I strive to remain chemical free and organic.
Praying Mr. Fox meets a local Miss and begin a family
in our neighborhood.

A quick sketch on Sunday so that I would remember
how beautiful the morning was and our special visitor.
The sky was pale gray & light blue with a soft peach glow!

Took a few minutes this morning to add color while
waiting for a special order to completely dry...
The cookie butter needed to warm up to room temperature, too~

Hope your travels are safe and that your hearts are happy, Friends!
Wishing you a joy-filled season~

I really just wanted an excuse to paint in French Ultramarine,
Ultramarine Light and Ultramarine Deep!

Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!

No big hurry...
Do hope before snowfalls!

Sharing snippets from my new art journal...

Sometimes there is a only a few minutes before
bed for a quick little sketch or thought...
"Litchfield"
The perfect little town I grew up in!
Hills and pastures...
Streams and swamps...
Ponds, critters, wild flowers and farm animals...

I fill in with paint when I have a few minutes.

I will be listing more Christmas and winter themed
original art pieces in my Etsy shop tonight~
(Update~ more are listed now... it would
not allow me to add photograhs last night)

Handmade, Artist Signed Jounals...

(The large size journals...)

The only thing more fun than cracking open a new
journal and discovering empty palettes~
To write on...
Sketch on...
Capture memories & thoughts...
Creative ideas...
A place to tape in feathers & flowers...

IS MAKING THEM!!!

I LOVE to make journals!
Surrounded by vintage books that I snip images from~
Mounds and heaps of rubber stamps that I have
collected for over 20 years...
Postage stamps from around the world...
AND
Prints from my original watercolors and
pen and ink illustrations!

Each journal is different because the ephemera
is all original. The old dictionary snippets,
garden book illustrations... word sentences...
Rare postage stamps from around the world!

Each journal has similar stamped pages...

Each journal is bird themed!
My feathered friends and I spent this
entire week together!

Many of you have asked about copies of my
watercolors~ I am researching the best way
to have my originals reproduced. I want to provide
a quality print~ without a big price...
I hope to have color prints available this fall.

One of my favorite covers...

More peeks...

Example of the black and white prints...

Three of my favorite stamps put together!

Dictionary snip with a stamp...

(The medium size journals...)

Moleskine journals have smooth, off-white pages.
Acid free product with an inner back pocket.
I have added a favorite quote on the back pocket,
signed and dated each one...
I am going to list all eleven of these in my Etsy store!
More detailed photographs of the covers will
be on the individual listings... other details, too!

Hope your Friday is off to a great start!
Wishing you all the best~

Sneak Peek New Journals...

I hope your week is off to a great start!
I have been busy at the printers...
Having originals made into prints for a new project!

Moleskine jounals~
They're wonderful to write in...
Sketch in...
Journal or keepsake!

I'm making a baby book for a friend.
Another sweet baby girl!
I use vintage/old Little Golden books &
scrapbook stickers/papers to dress most pages.

While I'm making a big mess with stamps, scissors...
papers, ephemera... ribbons... stickers... glue etc.
I decided to make several bird-themed books!
5 large & 6 medium size Moleskines journals...
I will have them available in my Etsy Store soon!

These are some of the images I will tuck inside...
Hope your day is sunny & sweet~

Journal Hearts to Share...

These are a couple snippets~ journal entries...
both from my inspirational journals.

I love to garden because I can let my mind wander.
A chance to fill-back-up and recharge~
Many times I come in from the gardens and
sketch a pretty flower...
put a broken blossom in water...
look up a new weed variety that has taken over!

This day I needed a pick-me-up.
God delivered~ as He so often does!

There are times when I have to repaint
one of my watercolor designs to fit a specific size.

Most of my watercolors cannot be altered digitally...
I make the changes from vertical to horizontal,
rectangle to square... etc. by repainting.
There are times when it seems near impossible
to match a collection. Adding new pieces to
something I had originally painted 5-10 years ago.
My palette is continually changing...
My hand... my style...

This was a sweet little feather "bit" that appeared
on one of the BIRD paintings I was trying
to recreate! I had no idea where it came from...
...but it looked like a little heart!
Taking a break from the deadline to put
the feather in my journal was the fresh start
I needed to make the new pieces flow!

Hope your day is kissed with a sweet surprise~

Baby Journal...

Sorry to have been away so long!
The last few weeks of school are
always CRAZY...but amazing!
With one in Jr. High & one in Sr. High...
it's DOUBLE fun!

Two more weeks...
and we will be able to enjoy summer break!

Sharing a few pages from a baby
journal I made months ago for a friend.

I find loads of old children's books...
filled with sweet illustrations...

Add some color with new
stickers, tags...scrapbooking papers...

Makes for a unique gift...
When you need to share a gift with a
new mom & dad that have most
of the necessities!

Loved this book illustration!
Added the castle sticker & flower stickers...

All put in a Moleskin journal...

Hope all of you are happy, healthy &
having some warm sunny days!
