on a snails back enjoying a cup of hot cocoa
the other day!

But today is warm!
The sun feels good... and the lawn needs mowing~

I've been working long hours in the studio~
Will have a few bits n' pieces of my
new paintings to share with all of you

Garden Pest Fun...

Summer Snailz
Copyright Michelle L. Palmer

Had to have some fun with our daughter...
She loves to take evening walks
with our black lab~
They're buds!
Some snails disturbed their stroll...

We have had a lot of rain, so the flower beds
seem to be full of slugs & snails.
They devour plants!
The other night, several S&S's were on the brick
path...our pup was sniffin' them out
and our girl was doing her best to
relocate them across the road!
Slimy~ Messy~ Yucky!

So I made some her favorite color!
Tie Dye!
Now when she steps on them in the dark
(bleck!!!!)
She just pictures them in full color...

Hope your day is wonderful!

Some framed felts were fun to make!

Had to share a few of the strawberries!

Baby Journal...

Sorry to have been away so long!
The last few weeks of school are
always CRAZY...but amazing!
With one in Jr. High & one in Sr. High...
it's DOUBLE fun!

Two more weeks...
and we will be able to enjoy summer break!

Sharing a few pages from a baby
journal I made months ago for a friend.

I find loads of old children's books...
filled with sweet illustrations...

Add some color with new
stickers, tags...scrapbooking papers...

Makes for a unique gift...
When you need to share a gift with a
new mom & dad that have most
of the necessities!

Loved this book illustration!
Added the castle sticker & flower stickers...

All put in a Moleskin journal...

Hope all of you are happy, healthy &
having some warm sunny days!

Chipmunk Tease...

Can you make out the chipmunk tail
on the window ledge?

The chipmunks just run up down,
over n' around the brick house...
Outside!

The cats run INSIDE!

Holding a captive audience...
Window to window...
Table to table...
Counter top to counter top...
Curtains with nail holes...
Piles of books knocked to the floor...
Sofa backs covered in hair...

Oh, where would the fun be without them?
:)
Hope you have a nice day~

Gorgeous Goldfinch...

A snippet from one of my paintings...

I love to hang laundry on the line.
Saves loads on the electric bill in the summer
and gets me out of the studio for a few minutes!
Summer sheets snapping in the warm breeze~

The only trouble I seem to have...
The sweet little Goldfinch love to
perch on the lines.
They just hang out and chat...
...while the clothes are there!
Yuck.
Sometimes need rewashing.
They must like the fresh scent!

Hope your day is sunny & warm!

Splashes of Color...

“For every beauty

there is an eye somewhere to see it.

For every truth

there is an ear somewhere to hear it.

For every love

there is a heart somewhere to receive it.”

Each one unique, different~
Some bright & vibrant, other soft and muted.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Each Day...

"I have always felt that the moment when
first you wake up in the morning
is the most wonderful of the
twenty-four hours.
No matter how weary or dreary
you may feel,
you possess the certainty that...
absolutely anything may happen.
And the fact that it
practically always doesn't,
matters not one jot.
The possibility is always there."
Monica Baldwin

Little Red Fox Rescue...

We named this sweet little girl "Ruby"
She's a red fox that was hit by a car last Sunday morning.
She's doing GREAT!

My husband had his drum cymbals in hand and
was heading out the door for church...
He wanted to go take care of the "squirrel" that had
been hit in the road before the kids got up.

As he stood at the side of the road with shovel in hand...
a car blew by (our country road is very fast)
SWEET lil' Ruby lifted her head!!!
She was alive & she wasn't a squirrel!

Hubby went off to church...
The kids & I jumped into action...called a rescue shelter
got the shivering little baby warmed up, tucked in
the kitty kennel and delivered for rehab.

She is a miracle.
Her face so sweet...she just cuddled up in
the blanket like a wee-little baby...happy to be warm.
Thank heavens for people who help them~

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Forget Me Not...

"Do you know," Peter asked...
"Why Swallows build in the eaves of houses?
It is to listen to the stories..."

James M. Barrie
Peter Pan

Garden Forget Me Nots...

Remembering so many stories that I've shared
with our children. They're growing into
wonderful young adults...going out with friends~
"Doing their own things" from time to time.
It is exciting to watch them jump in...
...even more exciting to see
what they come home & share.
...what they remember!

Hope you've had a great week to remember...

Friday, April 24

It's Friday...Whew!

We all have those weeks...

Our Sadie-Lady kitty...
Today is expected to be in the mid 70's,
tomorrow...low 80's ~ Mmmmmm...the weekend.

"In the first grade, I already knew the pattern
of my life. I didn't know the living of it,
but I knew the line...
From the first day in school
until the day I graduated,
everyone gave me one hundred plus in art.
Well, where do you go in life?
You go to the place where you got
one hundred plus."
Louise Nevelson

That quote IS the story of my life...
Kindergarten.
Mrs. King & Mr. Murray
My little end-of-the-year award button...
construction paper circle,
pinned to my shirt read,
"My Little Artist!"

JOY!
Do what you love...love what you do!
Hope you have a great weekend~
