Garden Journal...

I love writing...jotting...recording...journaling~

We moved into a home that didn't
have one flower plant outdoors.
The piece of earth that was cut away
with a few evergreen shrubs
was covered in these bright white rocks.

We now have eight or nine garden areas.
Our soil is a little odd...so we have to
"refresh" the gardens every few years
with peat, compost, manure and fresh mulch.

I have notes, sketches, dates & varieties
recorded & written in several different books~

Last night I tried to watch the debate...
With deadlines, schedules, etc. etc.
I could take any more stress~

So I pulled out a few boxes, folders etc.
and made a new garden times journal.

I have a huge collection of
all different style clothespins...most are old.
I LOVE to hang our laundry on the line.
The clothes smell so fresh,
it saves loads $$$ on the electric bill
and gets me outdoors!

Yesterday...in my thrift shop diggin' I found
these wee little guys! I grabbed one last
night and put it in my new book as a bookmark!

Sweet!
Happy Day Wishes to all of you~

Sweet Burnt Sienna...

The brushwork on this $.49 find is beautiful!
I'm not sure if my photographs show
the beautiful crackle/crazing of the yellow...

I don't know anything about this little guy...
It doesn't have any markings~

Wouldn't a rust & ivory colored owl
look cute sitting inside this...
Hmmmm...who will find this in their stocking?

Still have my $5.
Used spare change on this one...

'til next blog~

Grand Daddy Inkwell & Other Finds...

Had LOADS of errands to run today...
With a $10. bill in my pocket, some extra change~
I made sure to stop by my favorite thrift stores!

I took some before shots...with the price markers,
I can't believe the price sometimes!
These are all in excellent condition, too~

The gold trim on this is near perfect...
So sweet!
Our girl claimed this one for her room~

I LOVE little ink wells...
You've seen them filled with Zinnias~
This is THE GRAND DADDY of inks!

It is dear~ for .$50 I found my
NEW favorite vase...
It has a pale, pale pinkish tint.

All cleaned up!
Treasures to share in Christmas baskets~

I'm pretty sure this is old...but looks new!
It has a blue stamp on the back that reads
Delft Blauw
Hand painted
Made in Holland
Has a crown over top of these words.

The creamer was the most expensive
at $1.29~
Still have $5.00 left...

Until you read the next blog...

Tag...You're It!

I love the brad/fasteners for little peas....

We grew rows n' rows of garden peas
when I was young. My mom and I would
pick big brown bags of them & sit in
lawn chairs eating until we were stuffed
full of their sweetness!

Lil' lighthouse light keeper is sweet...

The only cow that had horns
when I was a child was the bull...
Keeps me confused to this day~
We HAD to stay indoors when the
bull was out to pasture~
He was not the friendly-type guy!
Chased my dad off the lawn tractor
more than once~
:)

Birds!
You know I HAVE to keep
bird themes in everything I do~

Have a happy...

Lighthouses...

Oops!
These were suppose to be in my last blog...

Shells, Lighthouse...Fish...

Stamps to share!

Save them to your computer
and when just the right project pops up~
you'll have some extra "touches" to paste on.

Owel'z...

Once I learn how to make something~
The fun is in making it my own!

We're all dressed up for a harvest party!

Looks like a senior portrait set up!

What A Hoot!

I have seen this project on SEVERAL blogs...
I just can't find them right now~
I wish I could give credit to somebody
because these were so much fun to make!

I did all the sewing by hand~
I'm not the most talented in that area...
Each little friend took
about one hour to make.
It was more difficult to select what colors!

Bend that little pointy top over to
make the sweetest beak!

Profile~
Too cute!

Since I couldn't find the site~
I'm not sure how the real artist's finished these off.
Maybe a cardboard disk covered in fabric?
This was my quick fix for now.

I'm sure as I make them they'll have
little feet, hats, scarves etc. etc.

Hope you try one!

Little Windowsill Blues...

New blue diamonds for the windowsill!
These were all $1~

I used some of our sturdier little blues last month to
put here n' there throughout the house...

My studio!

His Hand...

I was out mowing today...
Low 70's after that heavy frost the other day~
I wear my jacket like a parachute!

The leaves would swirl around me from time to time...

The air so crisp and clean...

In the distance I could hear children
laughing as they jumped in piles of leaves~

Our friendly chipmunk village has been
gathering up seeds from the maple trees...
Soon bushels of seeds will fall with the leaves
and the dear little critters will be fiercely gathering
and attempting to make their
winter homes in places we least desire~

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity
under heaven...
Ecclesiastes 3:11

I have painted harvest corn many times.

I have painted gourds, pumpkins and
fall leaves...

Never once could I come close to
The Hand that painted these!

What a beautiful gift we have in the seasons...
Hope you can take a walk, hike - bike or drive &
enjoy some of the fall colors...

Samples Arrived...

Universal Designs did such a FANTASTIC
job with these! They are such nice quality~

These are just a few of the
collections they have designed
with my paintings!

I have seen some of these products in our local
Christian book stores...

I hope to be partnered with them for
YEARS & YEARS to come...
This company is in Florida...
Products are made & printed in USA~
