Etsy through the storm...

All of the little treasures that I gather~
Saved for someday...

Dried sample of Queen Anne's Lace~

Seed pods, acorns, feathers...
All original illustrations in pen & ink on the front
cover of these sweet little craft journals!

Just listed them in my Etsy store...
Keeping busy while listening to the winds that seem to
grow louder and stronger with each passing hour.

Praying for everyone to be safe from this enormous storm.

Time for my little birds and bears to get their
winter woolens out of storage...

Time to hide away yummy acorns for a winter snack...

Wouldn't you like a sweater like his?

Be safe from the storm & in all of your travels~

The fun in fundraisers...

We love that our son is a musician.
He loved dance! Tap, jazz, ballet... lyrical.
A percussionist~ aka a drummer... loud and strong.
My drummer boy.
His piano teacher has never had a student like him...
I thank God for the music he brings to our home.

He is a Tenor 1
He is going to area All-State, All-County~
To Europe.

I made several of these for a Silent Auction that will help fund the
Select Choir trip to the United Kingdom.
They have been planning for over a year...
They're less than six months away from their amazing journey.

Don't stop taking pictures~
Window boxes...
Gardens...
Ornate details...
The countryside...
Yes, you can put friends in the pictures... if you must! (giggle)

I will have framed treasures for my Etsy store this week!
Trying to catch up on special orders and requests...
Thank you for being so very patient~ Sweet Friends!

Wishing you all the best~

From the studio...

Sweet little details...
Each month its own special start~

Red berries in winter...

Each topper relates to the monthly image...

There are letters in there somewhere!
My eyesight is not what it once was...

My handy-dandy helpers!
Along with reader glasses sitting just below my regular glasses!
Time for bifocals.

All twelve months are completed...
I have stopped word plays on favorite songs for now~
( I think the family misses my constant humming... don't you?)

Enjoyed summer-like weather yesterday & expected for part of today.
Studio windows were open & I think our feathered friends
overheard the stormy weather predictions!
They are in feeding frenzies...
Leaves are piling up...
Laundry is ready for the line...
Deadlines will have to be patient for a few hours~

Hope your Friday is off to a great start!

Calendar toppers & Mary Poppins...

When I'm painting my calendar toppers...
(the narrow strips on the date page that announce each month)
I keep singing the same song over and over~

"Feed the birds...
TOPPINGS a bag... toppings, TOPPINGS! Toppings a bag..."
Mary Poppins

It is a bird theme calendar...
They are toppers...
I LOVE Mary Poppins!
I think she runs through my blood along with watercolor pigments.

The green bench original you see in the photo is Sept. 2015!

Hope you whistle while you work, too!

Original Watercolor Painting...

I love painting calendar images~ planning is just as much fun!
Something snowy...
Something spring-like...
Something in pastels...
Summery!
Patriotic!
Back to school...
Mmmm~ Harvest!
Something that reminds us of Thanksgiving~
Christmas themes... that may also be used for cards!

Pine Grosbeaks for January 2015!
Snow will be flying soon...
Shhh! She didn't just say that?!!!!

Needle Felted Cardinals...

A gathering... and flying home to NV today!

A very sweet friend requested these~ and she has been so patient!

They started as tufts of natural wool, needle felted into balls...
Then the tails & heads were added to make the basic shape~
Then I dressed them in Christmas reds!
Added their little black faces... a beak to speak~
Last little details were seed beads for eyes!

Hope your week is off to a creative start!

Frost Fairies...

The frost fairies were dancing about our gardens last night!

This little fairy only paints the edges...

"I will frost everything... except the veins!"

Flash freeze fairy work!

Quick brush stroke fairy painting...

"Stippling" little tiny dots everywhere~

A little bit of this... a little bit of that brushwork...

Heavy edges & soft in the middle fairy style!

LOVE painting heart leaves...
Heavy on the edges and highlight the veins!

Just enough to make the edges sparkle...

"I like to leave the edges light & wispy" little fairy friend...

I'm glad they came to visit~
I needed to get away from my paints & brushes for a bit.

"Here comes the sun... dee dee dee dee~"

"Here comes the sun!"
"And I say~"
"It's all right!"

Have been in the studio morning til wee hours of the morning
for several weeks... deadline time for wonderful projects!
I will share peeks, soon!

Hope you have a fun... fairy-filled weekend~

Snail...

The snails are closed in tight...
Wonder if they switch out their seasonal wardrobes?

There will be a heavy frost on the pumpkins tonight...

Ice pellets in the morning rains...

I am doubtful that I will ever grow up~
For if I could I would gather every snail... bunny... bird... etc.
Dress them in warm clothes.
Build them cozy homes.
Shelter them from the cold.

Perhaps a greenhouse?
We wont let hubby read this post~

Hope your Friday is off to a great start!

My Watercolor Paintings...

The orchard is calling~
With chilly days, an apple pie baking warms more than the house!

Pears, Concord grapes & Butternut squash are on the list, too~
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
