When we first moved into our home a little lady with snow white

hair came up through our back yard to introduce herself.

With her straw hat in hand she stood and chatted for a while

and then asked if we could help her move her

potted geraniums indoors for the winter.

I think we may have been expecting our first heavy frost.

She had brought her red & pink geraniums inside season after season...

I think they were over 8 years old when we started helpiing her!

Each Fall we helped her relocate her back-step-beauties.

Hello, March and childhood memories~

March has arrived!

It had to be patient for one extra day... let's hope it doesn't stir up a storm!

Spring is just around the corner...

were here singing again this morning!

When I was young we had the most delicious strawberry patch!

I would lay on my back, in between the shrub-like rows and

stare up at the bright blue sky~

Careful to not hurt any of the runners that crossed the path of straw...

I would snack until full~ discovering animals in the cloud formations drifting by.

Springtime brought sugaring time!

I loved to walk about the wood checking sap bucket covers...

The crunch of melting snow & twigs.

Songbirds coming near~

They were just as excited to welcome a break from the winter freeze.

(Winter is going to behave like winter for the next few days!)

It is rare for us to see mice skittering around in February! 

I think they have enjoyed our mild weather~

This is the DMC floss that I used for the scallops & wren.

DMC 115 I purchased it at Hobby Lobby last week.

Like all of my other punch needle pieces... I do hope to have patterns soon.

Vintage linens~

I love to hunt for vintage/antique linens~

Antique shops & festivals...

Thrift stores & estate sales...

Lawn sales & auctions...

I immediately put the linens into a mild soak~

Little bit of laundry detergent & oxyclean... warm water.

Sometimes I need to repeat this soak.

Most stains come out over night...

A cold water rinse and gentle squeeze~

I lay them on bath towels and roll them up!

Once they rest for a day I press them, medium heat.

Amazing how vibrant the colors are!

Some are worn... they are just as beautiful as the nearly perfect pieces!

Treasured.

So many different designs!

Most linen pieces do not have a pattern.

Unique, free hand designs!

Each with a Valentine message and a sweet little friend~

A big larger this year as my friend Jan zipped them up by machine!

I did enjoy hand-stitching them in the past...

It is much nicer to have a larger size & more to share!
