My very first flea market!
All these years of hunting for treasures at auctions,
garage sales, thrift stores, antique shops... farm dry dumps!
Hubby brought us to a field of goodies~
Each of us found a little treasure~
I found more.
More pens.
More tips...
The worn handles and stained tips prove a history.
Pen and ink love letters, deeds, marriage certificates~
Journal sketches, calligraphy on calling cards, detailed illustrations...
My favorite things!
I love digging through "stuff" to unearth these rare beauties~
The older, the better!
I have never paid more than $1-$2. each...
It wouldn't be fun for me if they were expensive~
I save my cash for chocolate!

Oh they look great, so worn & used. They remind me of my Dad's paintbrushes I have, he was a signwriter.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful finds. They are truly treasures.
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect find for you! I love it when things like that happen...just meant to be. Think of all the lovely critters you will draw with those pens. I really like how they have been used and don't you wish they could tell they story of their life?

I envision a Michelle Palmer creating with her favorite vintage pens in one hand, a huge chocolate bar in the other hand, and a heavenly chocolatey smile upon her face. ENJOY, my friend!
ReplyDeleteChocolatey hugs and smiles!
