We have snow storm warnings...
The birds were busy at the feeders all day~
Feathers were flying...
Wind gusts tossing them about as they perch and re-balance~
I fill in little books to keep track of our feathered visitors
from year to year... they sit pretty while I sketch their little faces~
Each year we add new suet flavors and seeds to attract new friends!
When I gather feathers I put them in a sealed plastic bag...
Just to make sure little bugs don't remain~
I love watching wee ones fly with nesting supplies...
Today they were being tossed about... swaying on limbs...
This little friend has a smile~
A chipper flight above the beautiful springtime blossoms!
...
Some neighboring areas are bracing for 18"+ of heavy wet snow~
Praying all stay safe in the storm path!
Hope you have a wonderful week, Sweet Friends~
Hope you all are safe from the storms!

ReplyDeleteMichelle, Thanks for visiting my blog, now I'm returning the complement. Good to see how you sketch and keep your records - like it.
ReplyDeleteI was delighted to see your comment! It made my day...
ReplyDeleteSo love your artwork~it's an inspiration.
I'm afraid some of 'our' birds lost nests because of the heavy snow. Going out to see, and to cut away the broken limbs. Sure hope all is well at your place.
Love, Debra
Good morning Michelle~
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, we are welcoming(?) heavy, wet snowflakes this day. I pray all the wee woodland creatures are staying safe and warm until the Springtime returns once again.
Your drawings are as lovely as ever...you capture natures magic perfectly!
Wising you a cozy day my friend...
Hugs from our beehive,

Your drawings are always so beautiful, each and every one of them makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't get that much snow. We had warnings also but so far all snow that fell didn't stick, thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteYour bird drawings have always been my favorites ~ these ones are delightful!! You have such talent and know how to bring out their sweet personalities.
Have a lovely week.
Warm hugs ~ Jenn
Hope you don't get much snow and it melts away fast. Usually it's us here in WI that gets the snow storms but sunny and kinda warm here.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
Beautiful journals and drawings!

ReplyDeleteI'm recuping from a surgery and your blog is healing and beautiful.
I live in Central Florida and just recently witnessed the nesting , hatching and boo hoo, the leaving of the nest of Carolina Wrens. Same thing a year ago.. I was able to see the 'up close and personal' as they built it in a Staghorn Fern right outside my bedroom window. What fun !!! see you again... BJ
How fitting to be able to hear the chirping birds just outside my window as I'm admiring your beautiful sketches . . . the combination makes for a 'smiling day'!
