Fuzzy, light brown/taupe cocoon 4" long.
We had to gently move it to a safer location...
We put a quarter next to it on the paper plate.
It loved this small piece of bark mulch~
We had a fun visitor!
With a little bit of research...we know it's a
Cecropia moth (Hyalophora cecropia)
Some where in our "pre-digital" photo collection
we also have a picture of how beautiful (and HUGE)
they are when mature...I'll add it when I find it~
